I am currently sitting here in class with a brand new iMate Ultimate 9502 and it feels absolutely AMAZING!! For the longest time I had figured that iMate had gone to the wayside and went out of business, but it came out of the woodwork to shock me with an actual release of this model! One can only imagine the absolute euphoric astonishment I felt when I received an email directly from mobileplanet. Immediately tempted by the chance to get my hands on this 9502, I couldn't help but to jump for the opportunity to confirm my preorder along with overnight shipping. After being patient for one whole SLEEPLESS night of anticipation, I am pleased to say that I finally have this 9502 in my hands right now and it is definitely an awesome experience!
So far I am fairly pleased with the build quality of this 9502 and find it to be quite sturdy and well made. On the other hand I really am not sure if the quality can rival that of the Nokia E90...no, it cannot rival the Nokia E90. Nonetheless, it is still put together well in it's own right as a smartphone device.
After using this for a good while I have to say that much like the TyTN 2 the 3 megapixel camera on this 9502 is only adequate for snapshots. A negative is that the resulting pictures are grainy and the accompanying flash is very weak. Video, like any other non-Nokia device is not even worthwhile enough to mention with its measley 15 frames per second.
At this point I am enjoying the feedback of the included qwerty keypad. Being that the 9502 is as big as it is, it is a shame that it isn't wider for better typing. The buttons are small and have curved tops but I have not had to rely on my fingernails to type on this qwerty.
I am right now starting to get sleepy, so I had better head for bed. I shall post accounts on this 9502 as I continue to use it.
TRENT

In your previous post and elsewhere you talk of "boredom" when it comes to your mobile phone. I'd hate to bring you the bad news, but guess what? You will also sooner or later get bored of the iMate. I guarantee it. That is the problem with our gadget fetish: we get bored of phones and other tools rather quickly. I must say now that I've had the E90 for alomst half a year I keep coming back to it. I tried other phones... i tried N95, tried N82, tried various WM devices. At the end of the day I keep coming back to the E90. I think I found mobile heaven.
You know what? You are so right. It is only day two and I am already bored with it. The 9502 is bascially a duplicate of my TyTN 2 but only with a VGA screen. I am looking to make some review videos and will look to return it to mobileplanet. I, too, keep coming back to my E90 as well even though I am bored with Symbian. It turns out that being bored with Symbian is better than being bored with Windows Mobile 6.
